Provence Wines To Debut in Washington, D.C.

(New York, NY) – Nearly 20 Côtes de Provence wine producers will pour their celebrated rosé wines on March 27th, as area media and wine professionals gather for the first official presentation of the wines of Provence in Washington, D.C. The wine tasting will provide select members of media and the local wine trade to sample an array of dry rosé wines – the gold standard pink wines for which Provence is famous – along with select red and white wines of the region.

This tasting event comes on the heels of another dynamic year of retail sales for imported rosé – the seventh straight year of double-digit growth rates, according to a biannual Nielsen report.

“The popularity of rosé in general and Provence in particular in the D.C. area has made this a key destination for our tasting tour this year,” said Francois Millo, director of the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Provence (Provence Wine Council). “This event will be an excellent opportunity for area trade and media representatives to meet producers, explore our wines, and discover new Côtes de Provence labels.”

The Washington event is part of a series of official Provence wine tastings being held in six U.S. cities this spring. Other cities on the tour include Miami, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
